My approach to photography is to let the subject's own personality reveal itself, to spend time and capture that special unique presence we all hold as individuals. I enjoy the spontaneity of comfortable settings and natural lighting. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Texas, where I studied photography, portrait drawing, art history and figurative painting. My photography started with taking pictures on my travels to Europe, Victoria B.C., Seattle and most importantly pictures of my son. My close friend who manages a plant nursery in Dallas encouraged me to start selling my botanical images and other friends encouraged me to start taking pictures of their children. I decided to take it more seriously.

If the idea of bringing your children to a traditional photography studio makes you nervous, rest easy, there’s a better way. Sit back in the comfort of your own home or location of your choosing and let me come to you to capture your child in a comfortable environment. I typically only use natural lighting, no props, just your child because that is the most important subject! I take time in editing your images as if they were my own. Remembering personalities and special moments of the day make me treasure the time spent with my clients, capturing what is most improtant to them.

Photo Sessions with me are designed to be spontaneous, often candid and let each subjects unique individuality shine through. It is my goal to listen to what you want and to present each client with a unique series of photographs that look nothing like most cookie cutter "portraits". My interest in maternity photography stems from my own interest in wanting a specific mood captured with my recent pregnancy. I wanted my proud but introspective mood captured since this was such a special time in my life. My goal is to work with you to capture the type of image and mood that you desire and to focus on the blossoming essence of YOU in your most beautiful and natural state. Through drawing on my own experience in the visual arts and past academic interest in drawing the female figure, I create simple but visually stunning images of you.
